At protest against Shaheen Bagh stir, ‘goli maaro’ slogan day after shooting

A protest was conducted against the women-led demonstration in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh on Sunday. The protestors raised many slogans, including an expletive-laden one which means that 'traitors must be shot'. Chanting of the same slogan at a BJP election rally a few days ago had led the Election Commission to bar Union minister Anurag Thakur from campaigning for 72 hours. The protest took place a day after a man opened fire near the protest site in Shaheen Bagh. It has emerged a major site of opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 and a proposed National Register of Citizens.
