Protesting women don’t understand CAA: UP CM Adityanath amid Lucknow stir
Updated on Mar 13, 2020 01:25 am IST
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath trained guns at protestors opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and a proposed National Register of Citizens. Referring to protests at various places being led by women, Adityanath said that they don't understand CAA, but have been asked to sit on the street by the 'man of the house'. He also issued a warning against raising of 'Kashmir-like azaadi slogans'. UP's capital city, Lucknow, is witnessing a fierce protest against CAA with women camping at the clock tower. They have been inspired by a similar demonstration in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh.
