Only those who say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ can stay: Dharmendra Pradhan
Updated on Mar 12, 2020 11:35 pm IST
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan commented on the controversy over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. Speaking at the 54th annual three-day conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's Maharashtra unit, Pradhan said that only those who proclaim 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' must be allowed to stay in India. He also rhetorically asked whether the country should be turned into a 'dharamshala' where anyone who crosses the border can stay. Pradhan also seemingly pitched a register of verified citizens.
