Congress party workers in Shimla accidentally suffered burn injuries while attempting to light Prime Minister Narendra Modi's effigy during a protest on Monday. The workers were protesting against BJP's government “political vendetta” against the Congress and its leaders. The protest was being led by state Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Similar protests held elsewhere in the state passed without incident.
