A massive fire at a nightclub in Arpora, Goa, on December 7 killed 25 people and left six injured, according to reports. The blaze at Birch by Romeo Lane reportedly began around 1 AM during a crowded “Bollywood Night,” with police citing an LPG cylinder explosion as the likely cause, though eyewitnesses claimed it started on the dance floor. Many victims reportedly ran toward the kitchen to escape but suffocated. The fire spread rapidly through combustible structures, including palm-leaf sections, and narrow exits worsened the tragedy. Fire engines could not reach the site, and officials later revealed the club lacked construction permits.
