Art 370 scrapped | Army chief on bonhomie with people of J&K, message to Pak
Chief of army staff, General Bipin Rawat, commented on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the Central government's decision to abrogate its special status. When asked about civilian-army relations in the erstwhile state and the impact on them by the Article 370 move, General Rawat invoked the bonhomie between the residents of the erstwhile state and the forces during the 1970s and 1980s. He also said that it remained Pakistan's choice to 'activate' the Line of Control, and the Indian army was prepared for any eventuality.
