Challenges facing the government before Budget presentation

The budget session of Parliament is set to begin on January 29 2018 and the Union Budget will be presented on February 1, 2018. There are some challenges facing the government, one of them being the fall in the GST revenue. The GST collection for December was Rs 80,808 crore, a 14% drop from the August collection. The other reason for concern is the risk of the government breaching the fiscal deficit target of this year.
