Citizenship Amendment Bill passed: Protests in several parts of North-East

Protests are being held in several parts of the North-East a day after the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha. A 12 hour long bandh call has been given in Assam. Shops remained shut while students' organisations and the general public participated in the protests. Protests were also seen in Agartala where people demanded the withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
