Delhi: Stone pelting, lathicharge as anti-Citizenship law protest worsens
Scenes of chaos were witnessed in the national capital after a protest against the recent Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 turned violent. After setting multiple buses on fire, the demonstrators were seen clashing with the police. Stones were pelted and a petrol bomb allegedly thrown by the protestors. The police personnel resorted to use of tear gas and lathicharge to control the mob. The violent protests were focused in Delhi’s New Friends Colony.
