A group of farmers turned violent during their agitation against the Government on Maharashtra's Thane-Badlapur Highway on Thursday morning. The farmers were protesting against the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for allegedly acquiring their lands. The farmers then set tyres on fire and torched vehicles. They said that their lands were acquired on the pretext of constructing an airport. Additional forces, including riot control vehicles, were sent to the spot to control the situation. The violence took place nearby Nevali Village on Haji Malang Road.
