Indian Coast Guard issues advisory to fishermen to not to venture in southeast Arabian Sea

The Indian Coast Guard has issued an advisory to fishermen to go back to the harbour after Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall and a cyclone-like situation in the southeast Arabian Sea. Indian Coast Guard formations have been put on high alert after issuance of warning by IMD regarding formation of low pressure in South East Arabian Sea on 1 October & likely development into depression. Fishermen at sea have been advised to return to the harbour. Two Indian Coast Guard disaster response teams have been formed at Kochi and Gemini life boats are kept on stand-by for deployment at short notice.
