Manipur based journalist Kishor Chandra Wangkhem was arrested on Saturday for allegedly criticizing Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh. Kishore Chandra Wangkhem was working for a television channel in the northeastern state of Manipur when he uploaded several video clips last month calling the state's chief minister, N Biren Singh, a “puppet” of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had also criticized the Manipur government for commemorating the Rani of Jhansi. According to him she had nothing to do with Manipur's own struggle against the British. Kishor has been sentenced to year's detention under NSA act.
