Rape accused actor Karan Oberoi in judicial remand, friend Puja Bedi backs

Television actor Karan Oberoi was on Thursday sent to a 14-day judicial custody by a Mumbai court. The 40-year-old was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman. The complaint was lodged at Oshiwara Police station. The woman has alleged that Karan raped her on the pretext of marriage. The couple was in a relationship since 2016. A police official earlier said that the woman also alleged that the actor shot some objectionable videos of her and demanded money from her while threatening to release the clips. Karan was booked under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion). He acted in some popular television serials like 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin' and 'Inside Edge'.
