Maharashtra’s Mahalaxmi temple bans skirts & shorts

Mahalaxmi temple in Maharashtra's Kolhapur has banned the entry of men and women devotees wearing shorts and skirts from October 10, the first day of Navaratri. The dress code diktat was issued ahead of the beginning of 10-day Shardiya Navaratri festival celebrations. The Devasthan Management Committee, Western Maharashtra, Kolhapur, took the decision reportedly to maintain the sanctity of the shrine.
