Prayers offered in Kolkata on Mother Teresa’s 22nd death anniversary

A prayer meeting was conducted in memory of Saint Mother Teresa on her 22nd death anniversary at her residence in Kolkata on Thursday. Every year on September 5, devotees Teresa gather at her gravesite in Kolkata for a special thanksgiving masses. Teresa was remembered at The Mother House of the Missionaries fo Charity. In 1948, Teresa left the Church and adopted a lifestyle in slums to air the poor. She laid the foundation stone of Roman Catholic religious congregation in 1950. Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
