Updated on Feb 13, 2019 02:47 pm IST

21-year-old first time voter Srishti Mehta believes that leaders must focus on ensuring freedom of all sorts for citizens. “I want freedom of expression and to be unapologetic as I am,” she told Hindustan Times.

About 18 million people between 18 and 23 are estimated to cast their ballot for the first time in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Hindustan Times' My First Vote campaign aims to reach out to young, first time voters to understand what they want, and what issues matter most to them
