Steve McCurry is known for clicking the photograph of the Afghan girl who featured on the cover of National Geographic magazine, spoke to Hindustan Times for an exclusive interview at the Leadership Summit 2018. “I was in a refugee camp in Afghanistan. I was on my way to lunch, when I heard voices from a tent, that happened to be a girls' school. Before I had a chancce to ask for permission, I saw a little girl in the corner. I photographed some of the others while seeking for permission, but I had my eyes on her. The light was perfect, the background was perfect. I literally didn't have to do anything other than ensure that the focus is sharp. And it changed my life, says Steve McCurry.”
