Patients face problems as the resident doctors of the AllMS go on an indefinite strike

Resident doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences are on strike. The striking doctors are demanding the suspension of a professor who allegedly slapped a resident. The hospital has cancelled all routine surgeries and the outpatient clinic will be restricted because of the strike of the resident doctors. All academic activities and exams have also been postponed indefinitely. The hospital administration said that they had constituted a committee under the dean of research Dr. Chitra Shankar to investigate the allegation. As per the statement issued by AIIMS, “The director has appealed to the RDA to call off this illegal strike in the interest of patient care”.
