‘Defence Ministry estimates 4 lakh crore orders in 5-7 years’: Rajnath Singh

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday listed some of the items on the negative list released by India. Singh said the negative list of 101 items will promote indigenization in defence production. The defence minister said not only Water Jet Fast Attack Craft but other projects are also included in the list of banned items. The comprehensive list has assault rifles, artillery guns, missiles, attack helicopters etc. On Monday, the defence ministry had announced a ban on import of 101 types of military equipments to boost India's economy and make India self-reliant in defence production. The announcement was made during the inaugural session of Atma-Nirbharta Week. The defence minister said the saved money can be invested in PSUs of defence industry.
