Row over Facebook inaction on BJP linked hate posts: Who said what
A big political row has broken out over a foreign publication's allegation that a Facebook India executive stopped action against some BJP leaders who were indulging in hate speech and provoking violence on the social media platform. While the Congress latched on to the allegations to attack the BJP, the saffron party refuted the charges. BJP MLA T Raja Singh who has been named in the report rubbished the claims made in the article and said that he had one Facebook account which was hacked and he had reported it to the local police station. He further added that there are many FB accounts in his name across the country but he does not control them. This even as the Congress demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the case and said that in the US the FB top executive had been summoned for questioning by the Senate in a similar case. Congress said that there should be a through probe to determine how Facebook and Whatsapp influence elections in India. Watch the full video for all the details.
