Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad reacted to demands to ban the Islamist outfit, Popular Front of India. The Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh has blamed PFI for the violence during anti-Citizenship Act protests. Prasad, who holds the Law and Justice, Communications, and Electronics and Information Technology portfolios, placed onus for action on the Ministry of Home Affairs. He also commented on opposition from states regarding CAA. A day earlier, the Kerala Assembly had passed a resolution seeking revocation of CAA.
