Donald Trump meets Turkey President Erdogan weeks after Syria crisis

US President Donald Trump met his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday in Washington. The meeting came weeks after Turkey's offensive in Syria. Turkey launched military offensive against Kurdish YPG forces. The offensive against YPG took place in northeast Syria. YPG is an offshoot of 'terror group' PKK as per Turkey. The offensive took place after US forces withdrew from the area. The Kurds were one of US' main allies in war against ISIS.
