Vikram Chandra on Prashant Bhushan contempt case in SC, other top stories

The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on sentence in Prashant Bhushan's contempt of court case. The court witnessed a volley of arguments as the two sides remained firm on their stand, with the Attorney General Venugopal stepping in to say that Bhushan should be let off with a warning. Meanwhile, Justice Mishra, one of the judges of the bench hearing the case, insisted that Bhushan apologize. Bhushan's lawyer said that the Supreme Court as an institution must be able to take criticism. The day ended with the court reserving its verdict on the quantum of sentence for Bhushan.
