Taking a selfie with a cobra and posting it on social media cost a Vadodara-based builder Rs 25,000. Yashesh Barot put up the selfie on his Facebook account with a caption `cobra for Rs 1,000' which attracted over one lakh likes. Unfortunately for Barot, the image which also went viral on WhatsApp caught the attention of a wildlife activist who reported the matter to the forest department. Neha Patel, an animal activist, said her friend shared the picture on her Whatsapp number and she immediately shared the picture on her wildlife crimes group. She then reported the matter to the district forest officer who detained the accused and fined him Rs 25,000.
