Watch | Six dead, 10 injured in Gangasagar mela stampede

At least six people died and 10 others were injured in a stampede during the ongoing Gangasagar mela in West Bengal on Sunday evening. The stampede took place near jetty number 5 where the devotees had gathered to take a holy dip. Attended by thousands of devotees, the fair is an annual Hindu pilgrimage held during Makar Sankranti. The region holds significance as the River Ganga enters into the Bay of Bengal here.
