17 injured in SL grenade attack

Seventeen civilians including children were injured when a suspected Tamil Tiger threw a hand grenade into a busy street of the northern town of Vavuniya in Srilanka on Saturday, May 17. Vavuniya is the last town controlled by the government in the northern mainland and is the frontline of the territory under rebel control. This is the latest in a series of rebel attacks when civilian are being targeted.
