Three elephants were run over by a speeding passenger train passing through Pakkalad railway track of a village in Coimbatore of Tamil Nadu during the early hours of Monday. The elephants, including a pregnant elephant were crossing the railway track when the train hit them. According to officials, the elephants might have come hunting for a safe refuge for the pregnant elephant.
