Activists of political parties protest amid shutdown in India

Activists of various political parties demonstrated in different parts of the country on Monday against the central government's decision to increase prices of fuel. Protestors belonging to India's main opposition,the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demonstrated in Lucknow.BJP leader Arun Jaitley, along with other,activists was arrested during the demonstration in Lucknow. Meanwhile,Samajwadi Party activists also carried out demonstrations in Agra and Allahabad.In Maharashtra's Thane city,activists belonging to the radical Shiv Sena party carried out a protest by stopping trains at the railway station and raising anti-government slogans.
