Updated on Oct 17, 2007 08:11 pm IST
Idol makers in Bihar had been giving finishing touches to the idols of Hindu goddess Durga ahead of the four-day festival. Though traditionally, the idols should be made only in clay, but in the recent years, the artisans have been experimenting, both in terms of style and adherence to the strict norms for its making. It is believed that the goddess makes a visit to earth every year and so the festivities are meant to welcome her.
