Updated on Jun 24, 2012 03:59 pm IST

Bangladesh's Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has disclosed that Bangladesh has been looking upto Asian giants China and India to meet its export targets in the fiscal year ending June 2012. He said that the export earnings were declining as compared to the previous year, largely due to the Eurozone crisis and the slowdown of the US economy. He said that a more Asian approach would help Bangladesh increase export revenues and on this score, mentioned about encouraging response from China. India allows duty-free access to Bangladeshi goods, prompting Muhith to remark that exports to its sub-continental neighbour could double in the next fiscal.
