Better yield of mango in Tamil Nadu this year

Mango harvest in various districts of Tamil Nadu is double this year in comparison to the previous year. The department of Horticulture has also embarked on increasing the area under mango cultivation by bringing about 300 hectares of fresh land under it annually. Numbers of varieties are produced and are used as one of the major export items to foreign countries. Chief varieties of mangoes grown are Alphonso, Malgova and Banganpalli.
