BJP hails Osama's death but says more needs to be done

Bharatiya Janata Party today expressed their happiness over the death of Osama bin Laden, while insisting the fight against militant extremism continues. BJP Spokesperson, Ravi Shankar Prasad, at a news briefing said that though bin Laden was dead, the roots of militancy nurtured by him are too strong to be shaken even with his death. Accusing Pakistan of providing a safe haven to militants, Prasad said they are hiding people who masterminded 2008 Mumbai attacks and derailed a sluggish peace process between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
