BJP terms EC's urge against Varun, unprecedented

India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party termed the Election Commission's urge not to nominate Varun Gandhi for upcoming polls as unprecedented. Reacting to the EC's condemnation of Varun for his controversial communal remarks during an election rally and asking BJP not to nominate him for the upcoming elections, party spokesperson Balbir Punj said that the request is unprecedented.
