Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi vows to fight sedition law

Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi, who was detained on charges of sedition, vowed to campaign against Section 124-A cited in the IPC by contending that it has been misused as it curtailed the freedom of speech and expression. Meanwhile, noted social activist Binayak Sen, said that the sedition law was being 'consciously misused' to curtail dissent. Aseem was arrested on September 12 after a private complaint over a series of cartoons, including one that depicts the parliament building as a toilet buzzing with flies.
