Congress demands strict action against honour killings

Following the recent cases of honour killings in the national capital New Delhi and the neighbouring states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, Jayanthi Natarajan, spokesperson of ruling Congress party on Wednesday said that the time has come to take a national view on the matter and put it down with a firm hand. She added that a stern action should be taken against those responsible for these murders in the name of social honour.
