Congress looks for an alliance in Uttar Pradesh

A possible electoral alliance between Congress and regional heavyweight Samajwadi party brightened on Monday after chinks appeared in the relationship between the two last week. Senior leader of Congress said on Monday that talks were on with regional Samajwadi Party in the most populous Uttar Pradesh state for a possible tie up. Singh also asserted that his party would only go for a dignified alliance.
