Devotees throng temples to celebrate Maha Shivaratri

Thousands of devotees flocked temples in New Delhi on Wednesday on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, a sacred Hindu Festival which celebrates the marriage of Lord Shiva to goddess Parvati. Devotees stood in long queues outside eminent temples with religious offering and worshipped Hindu deity Lord Shiva. Meanwhile in Surat, devotees thronged to see a unique 25 feet tall Shiva Ling, made out of Rudraksha beads.
