Egypt football clashes: Police shoot two
Updated on Feb 03, 2012 01:12 pm IST
In a bid to disperse angry crowds in the city of Suez, police shot dead people who were protesting against the deaths of 74 people after a football match. Angry demonstrators filled the streets and city squares surrounding Cairo's fortresslike ministry of interior, which oversees the police, chanting against Egypt's interim ruling military regime and lobbing rocks at police. They tore down the cement and barbed-wire barricades that were recently built to protect the nerve center of Egypt's vast security apparatus.
