Finmeccanica deal: Antony admits corruption

Updated on Mar 25, 2013 04:12 pm IST

Taking a tough stand in the Finmeccanica deal probe, Defence Minister AK Antony on Monday said that no mercy would be shown to anybody who has taken bribe or has acted against the integrity pact. Finmeccanica and AgustaWestland have denied paying bribes in a $750 million contract awarded in 2010 to supply a dozen AW 101 helicopters for political leaders. The CBI probing the case earlier this month registered an FIR against 12 people, including former Air Force chief SP Tyagi. SP Tyagi's cousins, Julie Tyagi and Dosca Tyagi, and four firms have been named in the FIR. British Prime Minister David Cameron had assured Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cooperation in the AugustaWestland chopper scandal. Keywords: Finmeccanica deal probe, AK Antony, Bribe, Probe
