First low caste female community radio makes waves

India's first rural community radio launched by a group of 'Dalit' women in a small village in Andhra Pradesh state is making waves. Funded by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO, the community radio known as 'Sangham Radio' is being talked about not only in the rural neighbourhood but also across the country. The license to broadcast was granted to them on October 15th nearly 10 years after the facility was established.
