Flood situation grim in flood hit states

Flood situation in Assam continued to be grim with river island Majuli being the worst affected. Life is at a standstill for the people in the state with all means communications being badly hit. Assam's state chief Tarun Gogoi said that the affected people will be adequately compensated. Railway Minister Lalu Prasad said that he had requested the Prime Minister to provide immediate relief to those affected in Bihar.
