Floods devastate villages in Rajasthan

Floods are wreaking havoc in Bundi district of Rajasthan as an embankment broke, inundating about six villages on Sunday. However, locals claim the embankment of the River Chambal, which was under construction, collapsed on Saturday night. The overflowing water has flooded nearby villages and farms. According to officials, hundreds of people in Bhimapura village have been stranded due to the floods. Rescue operations began on Sunday in which locals also took part. Several parts of northern India are reeling under floods following heavy monsoon rains.
