Gross enrolment ratio to be increased to 30 pc: Pranab

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday said that India plans to raise the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) from 12.4 per cent to 30 per cent by 2020. The United Nations measures the GER as the percentage of students enrolled in primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education out of the school age population for the three levels.
