Gujarat prepares as Cyclone Nilofar expected to hit on Saturday

Cyclone Nilofar is expected to hit Gujarat coast in a couple of days and authorities have intensified relief and rescue arrangements as precautionary measures to handle the cyclonic storm. Nilofar, classified as a 'very severe cyclonic storm', is expected to weaken to a 'cyclonic storm' when it makes landfall on the Gujarat coast, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, said bad weather and heavy rainfall has been predicted for coastal regions on October 30-31.
