HC rejects Nalini's plea for general amnesty
Updated on Apr 07, 2010 09:27 pm IST
The Madras High Court in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday turned down the plea for an early release of Nalini Sriharan, convicted in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Rejecting her petition, a division bench held that Nalini had committed a crime that killed former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on May 21, 1991 and that it was a case filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). However, Radhakrishnan mentioned that he would challenge this order before the Supreme Court.
