High-level committee to probe ND railway station stampede: Mamata

Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee in New Delhi on Sunday said that a high-level inquiry committee would probe the stampede at the New Delhi railway station that killed two and left 15 others injured. The stampede occurred at around 2.50 pm, late on Sunday afternoon on the platform number 12 of the station. According to media reports, among the dead were a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman.The railway minister also announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rupees. 200,000 for the kin of victims who died in the incident and Rs. 50,000 for the injured.
