India, Pak need to work more on peace and security: Bashir

India and Pakistan Foreign Secretaries agreed to initiate number of steps to bridge the trust deficit between the two countries and said they have been trying for the last two years to begin meaningful dialogue to resolve all issues. The top diplomats of India and Pakistan held their formal talks on various issues in Islamabad on Thursday to nudge forward their slow-moving peace process. Expressing satisfaction over the talks, Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir, said that both the countries need to work on 'peace and security' to resolve all outstanding issues. Meanwhile, asserting that the meeting was held in an open and constructive atmosphere, Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said both the countries realised that development is the rationale for the future.
