Updated on Aug 21, 2011 08:49 pm IST

The prospect of whitewash was looming large after England reduced India to 103 for 5 in the fourth and final Test match. Bowling Coach Eric Simmons said the team was disappointed with its performance in the series on Saturday. At the close of the third day's play at the Oval cricket ground in London, India were reeling at 103 for five in reply to England's 591 for six declared with Rahul Dravid, the only one of their celebrated batsmen to live up to his reputation this series, unbeaten on 57. Dravid was again pressed into the opening batsman's role after Gautam Gambhir, who sustained a mild concussion when his head hit the ground in an unsuccessful attempt to catch Kevin Pietersen.
