Jayalalithaa sworn in as Tamil Nadu chief minister

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief J Jayalalithaa was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for a third term on Monday at a ceremony in state capital Chennai, along with 33 others in her Cabinet. She took the reins from the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam. State Governor Surjit Singh Barnala administered oath of secrecy to Jayalalithaa at the Madras University's centenary auditorium. Among the high-profile political leaders present at the swearing-in ceremony were Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, CPI national secretary D Raja and TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu, Regional Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh, Communist Party of India General Secretary A. B. Bardhan.
