Kashmir Curfew continues, cripple normal life

Shops remained closed and the streets were deserted in Kashmir as curfew continued in most parts of the disputed region on Thursday. The authorities imposed a curfew on Wednesday in many parts of the Valley to foil a march call given by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the chief of the hardline faction of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. Several other separatist groups too extended support to the rally, to protest against killings in the valley during clashes with security forces.
